Video ♕ First Memory

Okay, who switched the signs at the fork in the road? Because this is definitely not St. Petersburg. In fact, this is definitely not Russia, and as much as I'd like to believe otherwise, that woman was definitely not my mother.

[ At that, Anya pauses, and her eyes flicker with a tinge of regret as frustration is suddenly overtaken by longing ( Read more... )

Er, don't worry, she tells everyone she's their mom!

[...That's probably something to worry about.]

This region is called Johto, and if you just got here, you're in New Bark Town! And that's a pokémon, but I've never seen that kind before.

-- oh. [ slightly disappointed ] And no one has called the police on her yet? Because that sounds like a kidnapping asking to happen. Actually, it kind of already has, because I've never heard of a place called "Johto" or "New Bark Town". At least not in Russia.

A Pokémon, huh? It keeps giving me gift boxes that explode.

Nah, she's not the one behind us all showing up here. It's kind of sad, actually. I don't know why she keeps calling everyone her kid.

[But hey, distracted by exploding presents.]

Maybe you should tell it to save those for battles.

Well, if she really wants to be a mom, I know a great place not far from St. Petersburg where she can take home all the kids she wants. I'm sure they'd be glad to get away from the crazy old bat that's in charge.

Oh, so it's supposed to do that? I was wondering if it was just doing it to be funny. It keeps saying "Delibird" or something, though, so I guess that must be its name.

She claims to be everyone's mother. I remember she claimed to be mine when I first woke up here..

Doesn't she know that you can't just do that? [ She absentmindedly begins fiddling with her necklace again ] I mean, there are people out there looking for … never mind. Who exactly are you?

She doesn't seem to care. It seems she calls herself mother to anyone who first arrives here. [Rhode takes notice of that]

Oh, I'm sorry. My name is Rhode Camelot.

I wonder why that is. [ She realizes what she's doing and lets go of the necklace. It's a habit. ] Rhode Camelot? Thanks for helping me out a little. My name is Anya.

.... Yeah, you're right, this is definitely not Russia. You're REALLY out of your element, huh?

[Does Heather recognize Anastasia? Oh yes, because she is a child of the 90's and used to watch ~*~PRINCESS CARTOONS~*~ and ffffffff! However, thanks to the presence of other childhood nostalgia trips like Minnie Mouse and Christopher Robin, Heather's initially-frothing omg wtf reaction has started to wear off and be replaced with resignation.]

Even that's an understatement when you've come from below zero to sunshine and roses. And what's with the music?

You know, I've been here almost two months now and I still have no clue what the hell is up with the music.

And, let me guess, there is no mute button anywhere on this Pokédex thing either, is there? [ Not that she's one to talk since people spontaneously burst into song and dance on the streets of St. Petersburg in her canon ]

That can't be helped. It kind of comes with being Russian.

Don't worry, it's really not so bad here.

And I don't think she's anyone's mom, now that I think about it.

I'm sure it's a thousand times better than Soviet Russia, believe me, but there's just the tiny little problem of there apparently being no Paris, France in this world.
