Dragon threesome fragment

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Drabble

Since this is the first thing I've written in a while (and it's mostly typing up some previous written parts), I'm going to post it. Because darn it, I need to start writing again. Warning: has my comments to myself in it.

(set up scene, Luke lying in bed)

Luke wondered if Issac really thought he was fooling anybody.

He'd gotten use to the idea of Zav coming over on Friday and Saturday nights. He'd gotten use to Isaac sitting in the middle of the couch, or even occasionally on the far end with Zav in the middle. Heck, Luke had even gotten use to the idea of Isaac and Zav being alone together.

The realization that Isaac and Zav where actually going farther - in his apartment, on his couch, while he was in the next room over - had been a little harder to accept. Gradually though, Luke wasn't even put out by that. Sometimes he even helped, pleading tiredness and going to bed early to give Isaac and Zav time alone. Most nights he barely dozed, lying in bed in the darkness until he felt Isaac lay down beside him. And Isaac wasn't oblivious. He'd even remarked on the fact that Luke never really slept until he was in bed as well.

So did Issac think that Luke just assumed they talked when he to bed? Please. Luke knew better.

He could even tell exactly which nights Zav and Isaac got frisky. Not because of the noise or anything. In fact, Luke thought the pair were disturbingly quiet. No the real reason Luke know was because the only time Isaac brushed his teeth right before bed was after he'd been doing stuff with Zav.

Maybe it was some sort of misplaced courtesy that made Isaac do it. Maybe Isaac just wasn't comfortable sleep next to Luke - kissing Luke as he sometimes did - with the taste of Zavier in his mouth. Maybe somewhere in that brain of Isaac's were some dormant dragon instincts that said you do not lay down beside your bonded smelling like you'd had sex with someone else. Maybe, and this was most likely, he thought Luke would go ballistic if he did.

If it had been anyone else, Luke would have gone ballistic. But it wasn't anyone else. It was Zav. For some reason, that made all the difference in the world. It seemed… appropriate for Zav and Isaac to be together. Zav made Isaac happy and that made Luke happy. Neither seemed inclined to exclude him, which had helped soothe some the desperate anxiety he had on that front. Eventually, Luke's resistance to the idea of three, not two, had faded away.

This left him with something of a problem. Despite what most people thought, Luke wasn't usually contrary for the sake of being contrary. He was contrary for a reason. When it came to Zav though, the reason had evaporated like water in a desert. Any lingering irritation or snarliness he displayed towards Zavier was inertia - him going through the motions because he wasn't sure how else to act around the other dragon.

Luke wanted thing to change. He wanted to relax around Zav and possibly explore the reality of the three of the in a relationship. He just didn't know how and wasn't sure he wanted to try for fear of throwing what they had out of balance.

(Isaac coming to bed, kissing Luke, taste of mint tooth paste, Luke realizing he wouldn't mind Zav coming to bed as well, Isaac asking if anything was wrong and Luke telling him everything was fine. Maybe Isaac knows he's lying? One giant block of thought. Need to break up with actual action.)
