I don't know if I mentioned it, but Sunday when the hurricane was coming in, I got sick. Like high fever and chills kind of sick. The fever broke Sunday night, which left me with this lovely congestion and cough. Monday and Tuesday were fine: I could stay at home with public transit out, lay on my couch, and pay homage to the Kleenex gods. I was ( Read more... )

I actually get that a lot, b/c of my allergies and poor drainage tubes in my ears (I had a lot of ear problems as a child). Tips to help it clear more quickly -- a decongestant, if you're not already taking one, and chewing gum, oddly enough. Moving your jaw helps it drain more quickly and easily, the same way it helps your ears pop when you're taking off/landing on a plane or driving through mountains. ^__^

Hope you feel better quickly!

Rolls eyes at your health provider.

I have allergies and yes it does lead to stuffed up ears and pressure and, oh joy, vertigo for me. I take benedryl (and other over the counter stuff) for the allergies and most importantly Mucinex which has a decongestant. It thins the secretions so they drain out of my ears easier, there's a 12 hour version or a 4 hour version, dosage is as needed 1 or 2 pills option up to twice daily, and it works. 'Course you have to drink lots of water with it.
