dmorr did a quick rundown of his no-limit play. I should probably do the same, but this isn't it. This post is about why I have losing streaks. Actually, it's a lot of self-indulgent bullshit. So it's on my blog! ( Read more... )

Have you read Tommy Angelo's book? (I should really get an amazon affiliate tag if I'm going to keep doing this.)

It's about how to raise your C game, to tilt less, and generally do less stupid stuff. I'll get around to reviewing it at some point, maybe, but it's excellent if you need some ideas on how to tilt less and quit better and so on.

I read it, and enjoyed it very much. Apparently I bought it about a year ago, and I really thought it helped.

Unfortunately, I probably need to re-read it.

Nice report here Tim. I think the first step to recovery is realizing your mistakes which you seem to have confirmed here. When you are trying to squeeze poker into one day on family trips it can be hard to use good judgement on game selection etc... Since I moved to Vegas I am much better at getting up or moving to a new locale if the games suck or I am playing crappy. I also noticed when I went from a part time player to a full time player and back I fell into some of the similar traps. If you only can play once or twice a week you got to be careful not to try and play out of bad times when you are in a bad spot (locale and or games suck). Looking forward to seeing you again at Barge this year.
