Oh fuck all. My computer has lost its mind. The hard drive randomly renamed itself '+' and whenever I empty the Trash it *takes away* from the space available instead of adding space back. And a folder I had on my desktop, named 'extra', lost its name entirely. I don't even know how that's possible, I thought everything *had* to have a name, but- ( Read more... )

Sounds like a corrupt Hard drive or OSX pooped its pants and needs re-installed.

I woulod back up your stuff and do a clean format and re-install of OSX -- then if the problem continue's to occur I'd break out that apple care plan and request a new hard drive.

So upgrading is an option ($129 :/) and backing up everything and reloading OSX is an option (misc CD$) Would it be a good idea to take it in somewhere? leggyslove *had* to do that with her laptop, can't remember why, and 8odd months later they said they couldn't give it back to her. She never got her hard drive back, just a voucher from Staples for a new computer *cringes* I wouldn't go to them, but I do *NOT* want that to happen.

But mine was so wonderful!! *pets* I love it deeply even now. Despite it failing me horribly ... >_>
