My Policy on Spoilers & Titles for this TV Season
this is an across-the-board fandom post -- for all my fandoms i post about (this includes Supernatural, Lost, 24....) so save this post! i put it together here for Supernatural S2, here for Supernatural S3, and was a sticky post for about a month into S2. the same policies hold true for this year.
*1* picspams will be labeled with the episode title in the subject line. the teaser pic will NOT be spoilery, but the pics under the cut might be.
*2* episode ramblings (running commentaries and/or summary thoughts) will be labeled with the episode title in the subject line. the juicy parts will be under a cut.
*3* all entries will be tagged with the episode title as well.
*4* for Supernatural: the episode will be identified by "4.##" until the DAY it airs. if i post any kind of spoiler, director's cut, or whatnot, it will have that designation. even in my TVGuide Picscans cut tags. until THE DAY it airs. then, see #5.
*5* for Supernatural, sometime on the day that is Thursday (which could be as early as midnight, so it might still be wednesday in some places), i'll try to post my "Deansday Squee Post!!!" (yaay!). this WILL include the Episode Title... but the scan i did from my TVGuide will be under a cut. if there is no scan, it'll be some other goodie relating to the ep. (note: i usually get my TVG the week prior, and try to scan articles and blurbs and post my TVGuide Picscans.... so these should have appeared in my LJ before. *g*)

the following things are NOT spoilery to me, but i'll still put them behind a cut:*casting - character names and guest stars. and at this point, Bobby isn't even spoilery.
*episode titles
*air dates
*stupid little blurbs from TVG and the like
*the myths/MotW Eric uses in the episodes
*speculation (unless your spec is based on the sides. or you're Eric Kripke)
*crack theories based on theories/ideas we already know from previous episodes
what IS spoilery, and i do not do or read:
*in-depth plot descriptions, including HOW Eric is using the myth or MotW
*sides
so... yeah, if so-and-so is starring as Lilith, that's fine... but i don't want to know how she interacts with Sam or Dean. and i don't want to know how they deal with the myth or kill the monster.
important items of note:
i WILL continue to post some of these things as random links posts and the like - like my mythology links and Monday Morning at the Movies posts from last season. they will appear at random posts.... so if you happen to know the episode titles, myths and MotW, please do NOT spoil it for someone who thinks i'm just posting random stuff again.
AND - i usually end up learning about the episodes beforehand just reading bits and pieces, and chatting with friends. please do NOT assume i've read the sides or the latest interview.
someone once asked me why do i have to keep re-posting this. the real answer is "i don't have to - cause it's my journal and i can post whatever i damn well want." but it's more like, i'm nice and giving y'all a heads-up that this is what i'm doing because the last time i did it was april, and people do forget these things.
basically, it comes down to this... if episode titles on the morning the episode airs is too much for you, there's a few options - one is not to read your flist. you could scroll by real quick... or filter me out. i know people are either filtering or ignoring me already, so what's 10 more? or, since i'm a repeat offender, take me off your list. that's been done too.
