That tablet isn't bad. I haven't heard much about it, which can be a good thing or a bad thing - it really depends. It looks definitely overpowered for what you want to use it for.

Have you considered a smart phone? I know you said you didn't have one, but honestly for what you want, a smart phone could easily do that job.

don't really want a smart phone, actually. yeah, they're cool too, but that's my phone. i'd rather use the phone for a phone and something else small and light-weight as a portable internet.

That is a nice one, however if you really do not plan on doing more than listed, you could probably get away with one that was less intensive. That one is really overpowered for what you'd want it for, IMO. Then again, once you have it, you will probably start to do more with it. :P

I know you're probably looking for a regular ol' tablet, but I must admit, my iPad is pretty awesome. I rarely touch my Smartphone because of it, LOL. But of course, I think the other tablets would be just as cool. I know Android has one out. *shrugs*

well, i can always check out the iPads too. i'll have to revisit the one i linked above, because i was just playing with some Samsung tablets too. =)

as far as i know, Android is the operating system, like windows. i believe Android might be linux-based.

thanks for your thoughts! =)

(It's the router, not the modem that needs to support wireless...)

You probably know I love my iPad. :) Dunno if it's the right match for you.

Just let me know if/when you set up a wireless network so I can hook my iPad up to it when I am there. :D

yeah, it's the router. i knew that. *edits*

not sure how to set up the wireless, since we use the wired. maybe you could help me out sometime?

Figured you should know that. ;)

Err, I usually follow the manual or instructions that came with the router. That's what I did when I set up mom's wireless for her iPad. (yeah I got her a router when I got her the iPad. I figure I'm good now for buying her birthday presents for a long time)
