December 21/22 is the Winter Solstice -- in the Northern Hemisphere.

however, in the Southern Hemisphere, that same day is is the Summer Solstice.

December 25th is Xmas wherever it's celebrated.

so in the Southern Hemisphere, Xmas is a Summer Holiday.....

As much as I hate cold weather, I'm not sure if I could handle Xmas as a summer holiday.

Of course, having lived in the northeast US all my life might have something to do with that.
