ok, the Civil War vamp - why was he out in the daylight? i thought vamps could do that if they had that special ring, like Damon and Stefan.

So was the woman on the park bench, do all of them have special rings or what? Iz puzzled.

well, they shouldn't - Katherine gave them to just Damon and Stefan.

I love how Damon can go from being dark and twisted to light and funny .

On the whole ring subject, in the books does it tell exactly how those work? Is it creating a shield around them or turning them human or close to it while they have them on?

oh yes.....

well, no, not really.... but the books do say the rings have a lapis lazuli stone in them - which is a protection stone in this case. it allows the vamp to be out in the sunlight, but doesn't really say HOW it does it. i think?
