I really loved Dean in this episode. I know, big surprise, but just bear with me, and I'll tell you why. I thought that it's really interesting to see him in such a vulnerable position, and it gives us a chance to really appreciate Jensen's talent. That muscle tick in his cheek was a thing of brilliance. And, you know my absolute adoration for anything angsty, so seeing this was a real treat for me.

I had my reservations about Anna, but I think those are now gone, and they took with them my reservations about Castiel. I trust him more now because it looks like he's going to actively be seeking the truth behind whatever is going on in Heaven. I don't trust people who blindly follow orders in situations like this.

I really liked that Uriel bit the dust. And, yes, the wings were totally cool. I literally had a little bit of a fangasm there.

Anyway, I'm glad that I came back to the show this week. I'm hooked again. XD

i agree about Castiel looking for reasons, answers, the truth now.... but i'm suspicious of everyone anyway. heh.

i'm glad you came back too. i never left.

Yep, Dean's going to have to man up whether he feels worthy or not. *smishes him*

I LOVED this ep. I'm supposed to be avoiding lj to get work done but I couldn't help myself coming on to talk about it!

This was such an amazing episode!

1: I loved the wing special effect that happened with the first angel and then again with Uriel. I believe Anna was Castiel and Uriel's superior before she fell.

2: I loved the map locator fire. Very cool. Dean could have used that trick a few times to find Sam...

3: It's interesting to hear your explanation of Dean as a hero. I think you're right in that he doesn't see himself that way, but I feel like in the end, he is going to be one.

1. hmm, interesting about Anna. and yes, the wings effect is one way to tell it's an angel.

2. ooh yeah, Dean could have used that too, you're right!

3. thanks... and yep! :)

1: Yeah, she was their superior. I think it's been mentioned in 4x10?

Just watched my download (missed last night.

I love Castiel in this ep. It was his story almost more than it was Dean's or Sam's. I love what they're fleshing out, that there are angels following Lucifer (which in a way makes a little sense.. I'm sure those angels that stayed behind have had an AWFUL lot of time to think since Lucifer's banishment.. and if they aren't actually feeling God's presence.. well, that would be a bit like banishment to them too... - Hell, I know how it feels as a human to be estranged from my father... - don't know if it's an apt comparison, but...)

I now have a new 'ship though. Anna/Castiel. The chemistry between the two of them... Wow!

here's where i seem to miss alot of stuff. i do think Anna/Castiel is a totally cool idea, i can never see if there IS or ISN'T chemistry between actors. (no, i take that back, i could see it with Ben and Claudia on Farscape, but i just attributed that to them being such good actors...)

a lot of times, people will say "their chemistry was awesome!!" and it looks good to me anyway. and then people say "their chemistry sucked!!" - and it looked good to me too.

Well, it was all eye acting to me. How both actors seemed to express something looking at each other, some body language.. the direction for the angels seems to be that they should try to keep their voices emotionless at times so the no voice expression makes it harder.

But when Anna put her hand on Castiel's when she first visited him in the ep, and there seemed a closeness between the two of them.. that's where I saw the chemistry, that and when she saved him and they shared that look. Also, the look as she was telling him he had to think for himself.

The body language between the two reads so interestingly to me. Maybe it's just the seduction of giving into his feelings for humans, to want to think for himself - maybe that's all Anna's offering and Castiel.. he's so scared, he wants someone to take care of him, to tell him it's okay to love humans...

I think I got off tangent. But Anna is representing something to him, and it's alot like watching someone get seduced slowly..

I was just thinking about how far Sam has come from the 1st season. Imagine telling his 1st season self what he's doing now! I doubt he'd believe it.
