Yes...I understand they are not "opposite languages" and are in fact very similar. Hell, "peace" in Arabic and Hebrew are written almost the same. But in the Gaza Strip it would be kinda appropriate :-)
I didn't complain because her views are not the views of the diner. She's a nice enough gal but...common.

I'd have been sorely tempted to play mind games, though, and answer her question "because it says 'Peace'", and just let the gears strip against the assumptions.

...I have contemplated having maps ready with the cemetaries highlighted :-) Come to think of it, the largest cemetary in Inday, and one of the largest in the country, is in primary Democrat territory...
