[no game, open RP] The "pester Edgeworth in his office" post

Feb 14, 2011 19:53

[Chances are, when you enter room 1202 of the Prosecutor's Office, you'll find High Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth hard at work. He learned the hard way not to be too quick to throw people out when they interrupt him, so as annoyed as he probably will be once he notices your presence, you'll more likely than not get a sufficient chance to justify ( Read more... )

I wanted to tag you with Kay again but for a change... promisecutor August 2 2011, 11:03:59 UTC
[When you least expect it, there will be a very, very familiar man looking up at the framed jacket over the couch. He grins and strokes his chin.]

Even flashier than von Karma's threads.

[Then he'll just turn to look at you, still grinning.]

...Actually, my office in general has become flashier as of late.

[Well, maybe not immediately familiar. Only recently did this man's existence even cross his mind again, after all. More pressing than the question of identity at the moment is another one:]

Wh-when did you get here?!

This will just be a crack ghost!Byrne thread, I can tell. promisecutor August 5 2011, 11:54:33 UTC
[A chuckle.]

I've always been here. Well, you know what they say about ghosts having preferred haunts and all...

Although I do like to pop into other places every now and then.

Heh, probably not 100% crack, but. ;) truthsnomiracle August 5 2011, 19:57:02 UTC
[Once, not too long ago, Edgeworth wouldn't have given such a claim the dignity of an acknowledgment. Now, though, even as irritated and uncomfortable as the claim makes him:]

If your claims have the slightest hint of truth to them, then you can testify as to happenings that have occurred in this place during my tenure.

[Given that harsh tone and that look on his face, Byrne, YOU'D BETTER.]

Still, we have a ghost!Byrne haunting offices. promisecutor August 6 2011, 04:47:17 UTC
[Edgeworth's glare and voice do little to ruin Byrne's affable, casual air. In fact, the older prosecutor hardly reacts; he's worked with Manfred von Karma in the past, and even that guy couldn't shake Byrne.

So he will answer straight to the point.]

Two people broke into my - I mean, our - office one night. And not too long ago, you, Detective Gumshoe, and Kay had a little group photo. That enough for you, High Prosecutor?

Yep! ;) truthsnomiracle August 6 2011, 07:59:40 UTC
Not only are those statements both vague, they refer to things that others aside from myself are aware of -- including a certain rather effusive detective. If you can describe in some detail a moment which could not have reached another via hearsay, I would be more convinced.

And other places ahaha. promisecutor August 6 2011, 10:20:49 UTC
All right, all right. [Still unruffled.]

I believe you were...surfing a website dedicated to that kid's TV show two days ago. I never thought you'd be the type. The Steel Samurai, was it? You seemed so eager to answer questions other people were raising about it.

(Blast! That is rather more convincing, given the security measures that I take when pursuing such things. Remain calm, Miles...)

I assure you that no such sites will be found in my browser's history, nor bookmarks in its menus.

[Byrne walks toward the shelves of files calmly, then raises his hand over a particular folder, knowing full well what is hidden behind it.]

Then I'll just look somewhere else.

Grrk--

[So does Edgeworth, Byrne. So does Edgeworth.]

...I believe that's sufficient to address your claims of knowledge.

Guess that settles it. [He withdraws his hand.] But don't worry, this'll just be our little secret.

Now, aren't you going to ask me to prove that I'm not just some prankster who just happens to know a thing or two about what you do off-duty?

I would indeed be satisfied with no less.

Glad you asked.

[Byrne stretches out a hand straight into the files. Actually, his entire arm sinks all the way to the elbow.]

Proof enough?

I've recently witnessed rather impressive projection technology.

[That would be a "keep trying", Byrne.]

But can a projection do this? Especially since there don't seem to be any wires strung in your office?

[He chuckles, and withdraws his arm. Then he randomly takes a file and begins reading it.]
