I feel that eventually this was going to come up. Missing someone eats away at you...and in that process one often forgets that others are hurting just as much. It wasn't an ideal situation, but given the circumstances you both did what you needed to do, what you thought was best. At least William is safe right now. Whose to say if you (or Mulder) did something differently he would be?
