File 22 - Untitled Document

I almost fell asleep in class today. I had to make up some excuse about how I'd caught the flu to explain my absence for the past week. The teacher was lenient because I'd turned in all the make up assignments, but I was lectured anyway ( Read more... )

What's the evidence they have pinned on this guy?

The only physical evidence they have are Kubo's fingerprints on the third murder victim's clothing. Although he claims to have committed all three murders, there's no evidence linking him to the first two victims.

That's one reason why I believe that Kubo is not the man we're after, although I do believe he was responsible for Mr. Morooka's murder.

hmm... could it have possibly been an imitation crime?

That's my theory. But what do I know? I'm just a snot-nosed kid. At least, that's what the Inaba PD seems to think, at any rate.

If any progress is going to be made on this case, I'll have to work on it alone.

You have fun, just like Kid-san. How cute.

I hate it when the police do that. What proof they have against Kubo?

Kid actually enjoys the attention; I don't. In fact, I think there's an older woman who might be stalking me...

The only proof they have is fingerprint evidence linking him to the third victim, Mr. Morooka, and a confession to the first two murders. Of course, his confession is dubious at best, given the circumstances.

And older woman? Are you sure that it's a fan and not something else?

Dubious as it is, proofs are proofs.

Well, I mean older than a high school student. Probably in college. I see here along the Samegawa flood plain from time to time, when I'm leaving school. It's a bit odd, I admit, but nothing that's raising any red flags.

Well, for starters, Kubo can't give any sort of explanation on how he murdered the first two victims or where he disappeared to when the police were searching for him. Even now, he appears to be mentally unstable. Just babbling about how he's "pissed off" and "wanted to be famous". Something's just not adding up.

((Yes, in the game, there is a random NPC who is only known as "Young Woman" who is obviously not a high school student, and only talks about Naoto-san.))

You declined all those offers? Why? I'd be really happy to have girls that were so concerned about me...

Because they're annoying fangirls, that's why. The only reason they want to get to know me is because I'm the "Detective Prince."

Aww, well, even if they're annoying, you should appreciate fans, I think. If they take the time to go out of their way to like you, well I think that's a great thing to do. But then, I only have a couple of fans, so I don't know what it's like.

...That's a really cool nick name.

The fangirls are nothing more than babbling sycophants who expect me to return their affections even though they know nothing about me and I know nothing about them. Besides, I don't have time to waste on callow love affairs. I have more important things to worry about.

I didn't choose it for myself. The media gave it to me a long time ago.

Looks like you're pretty popular.

Not me, per se. It's the "Detective Prince" that everyone is interested in. And to think only a few short weeks ago, the school was only talking about how "Risette" was going to be enrolling in Yasogami High.

It's still you who they approach. And it is still Rise they approach when they're really looking for 'Risette'.

Yes, but they don't really know anything about me, and I haven't been there as long as Rise-chan. I think they're only now just starting to see her as a "person" rather than an "idol."

I came back to school to find my shoe locker crammed to bursting with love notes. Pretty stupid of them all to keep shoving them in there, even though I was absent from school.

You don't think he did it, huh...

I think he murdered Mr. Morooka, there's no doubt about that. But Ms. Yamano and Saki Konishi? I don't think Kubo had anything to do with it.

But you don't need to worry about that, Rise-chan. We have the Halloween Party and the school trip to think about, after all.

I trust what you think, Naoto-kun. It does seem kinda different this time.

I'm getting so excited for the party! It sucks making friends on here but not getting to see them normally, you know?

We'll simply have to wait a bit for the culprit to make a move. So far, things have been rather quiet around here.

I know what you mean. In fact, I'm going to have to see about acquiring my own worldhopping device, so that I won't always have to rely on Minato-kun to take me places.

Is your costume nearly finished? The tailor just finished up mine and Kanji-kun's.
