This is great. Poor Kurt.

I've never seen a non-boxy-ambulance for paramedics in my state, but it's possible they have them where it snows for situations like that. Also, at least in AZ, the paramedics are in the fire department. They come and assess and then they call for an ambulance. Only had to do that a few times. Don't know how it works in OH, though. Once you get to the ER, there's another triage.

In England we have rapid response vehicles which look like normal cars, and are usually manned with one or two paramedics and emergency equipment. They are usually quicker to arrive to an emergency and they treat the patient before the ambulance arrives to take them to hospital. They can also take non-emergency patients to save taking up an ambulance.

This isx cool. It seems very real to me. Taking the SUV makes sense to me-- when there is a snowstorm, you just do what works!

I'm really enjoying this so far. I can't wait until Kurt meets Blaine :D

And I couldn't believe it when my American sister in law said she'd never heard of boxing day (or Christmas crackers). In England we just watch Christmas TV and eat cold turkey sandwiches all day, though the sales do start on boxing day, and shops are only closed for Christmas Day.

There are sales the day after Christmas, though the term "Boxing Day" has absolutely no significance. And from what I hear from my brother who studied abroad in Manchester, Boxing Day is not as awesome as our Black Friday which is a bit of a Thing (I don't go waiting in lines at 1 AM for four hours for nothing and that's what I call a tame experience, others are much more hardcore).

As for the other types of emergency vehicles, I can't say I've seen any SUV types either but we only get one bad storm a year, possibly two if we're lucky and even then it's only about a foot of snow...

Boxing Day here is actually a civic holiday! Everything is closed on this day, although I know it's not the same all over Canada. It's either just in my province or in a few towns in my province. It's nothing like Black Friday at all. Everyone usually goes shopping after Christmas to get the sales, nothing insane.
