Am thinking about a paid account...

because I'm tired of humongous ads on my LJ and the banner ad at the bottom where two animated chicks start making out.

Do you like your paid account?

I'm thinking the $25 could be better spent on, you know, getting out of debt?  I spend $15/month on Netflix, though.  What's twenty bucks?

I like the paid account well enough. I like the extra icon space and being able to do polls and not having to deal with ads.

I love my paid account. It's worth it nit to have to deal with the ads and limited features. I LOVE my icons!

And really, I don't miss the money. I usually pay for 6 months at a time. We could blow that much at McDonald's or someplace in 30 minutes or less.

I loved my paid account so much that I kept paying for it for years and then finally bit the bullet during the last permanent account sale and bought one of those.

So yeah, I absolutely think that paid accounts are worth the money. $25 once a year isn't really that much, and I always felt it more than paid for itself in terms of the enjoyment I got out of it - it was a great return on investment, one might say.

I think it's worth it. I would have a permanent account if I had big chunks of money just lying around when they go on sale. I like the icon space and the lack of ads and the security; when they change things it isn't with the paid accounts.

The 30 for LJ is TOTALLY WORTH IT WITH ICONS.

Absolutely Netflix is worth it! I used to spend more each month in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart for movies I'd already seen. Now I can watch movies for less than what I dumped each month, I don't have to keep them or store them (I can buy them if I want -- I have a list going at Amazon when I get dollars) ... and the selection is amazing. Netflix has a great "you might also like" bit that has been a great rec engine for me. I think you'd like it lots. Also, we could friend each other on Netflix and see what each other is watching! You should try it free for a month and see what you think!
