This article reminded me of the worst parts of my Backstreet concert at the end of February. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that it doesn't just seem to be a local problem. :x At least they didn't sell booze at ours.

I would use this article as evidence to argue why musical acts of their stature and fame (or fan-persuasion) should NEVER do a a concert with general admission... but then I remember the last concert I went to where we were fifth row on the right side and ended up squeezing our way to front center of the stage (seats? What seats?). Determined and aggressive fans are determined and aggressive.

But seriously, is it worth the shove-fests and tears? Really? You're not going to get the Boys' attention with violence. At least, not the kind of attention you want.

Can we have that posted on a sign before the show or something? Because quite a few fans suffer from delusions of entitlement and let that fuel the rage. It's exhausting and unnecessary.

I'm SO glad I pushed for the reserved seats at that place. I'd been there for Melanie C, and 3rd row in a rabid GA crowd is not for the weakhearted, even for her. Then you have to factor in the inordinate number of BSCs in the Backstreet fandom. LOL

Up in the 4th row of the 1st balcony, we were able to see everything on stage and ignore whatever was going on down there, but the drinking is just, wow. It's like this bunch never gets out, so they have to pack it in while they can.
