Actually I was thinking of Jounouchi/Joey. He's friendly, I'd say he's pretty cheerful, and he tried to cheer up his friends when they're down. He can also be kinda lazy sometimes too, and forgetful maybe. He's also more mature than he lets on. Your likes and dislikes could work well with him. He's a follower, kinda hyper, and he's fun but knows when to be serious.

Except for the social or shy reply this seemed like a downright Jounouchi to me. A very cheerful, optimistic and simple person.
