Deviations from canon

Mar 08, 2020 05:14

Because this game is a carry-over from an older community, and even in its newest incarnation, we’ve cycled through a few different canons, while we can ignore some of the previous canon, there are a few things that we need to take into account for characters that are currently active. Most of these issues are related to the New Directions cast, as they’ve always been the more central characters.

Here is what one needs to know before applying to play a canon character:

GENERAL ALTERATIONS

SECTIONALS (SEASON 2)

Considering that it would have been very illogical not to have Maël dancing at Sectionals, it was decided that the choreography of "Valerie" was made for two pairs of dancers instead of one, which means Quinn was involved too.

PROM (SEASON 2)

Bryce attended the McKinley prom as Maël’s date, and got involved in the scuffle between Jesse and Finn; he wasn’t thrown out, though, as the majority of his involvement happened while Becky was alerting Sue to the problem. After Quinn and Rachel’s conversation in the bathroom, they returned to the gym for the final dances; Quinn dancing with Bryce, and Rachel with Maël.

WARBLERS

Wes, David and Thad were considered seniors last year (season 2) and therefore have now graduated. The new council is composed of Jeff, Joris (OC) and Zane (OC with Jon Hall as PB, currently unplayed).

CHARACTER-SPECIFIC ALTERATIONS

LAUREN

Because Maël was there, New Directions would still have had enough members for Sectionals after Kurt left but we decided that, after hearing she wouldn't have a solo this time, Rachel was so upset the others feared she would refuse to compete, so Puck asked Lauren to join just in case and they invited her to stay even if it turned out she wasn't really needed.

OTHERS

No other available character was directly involved in anything that really needs to be taken into account and, when mentions were made, it was only in reference to canon.

Any question? Feel free to ask in a comment.
