I don't really think that's what is happening here... After all, we know from past seasons that Sam's past is very mysterious: how did he go from homeless, pennyless teenager to this guy we see now, who owns several pieces of real estate and has BAGS of cash money hiding in his office? I for one would love some additional background. If it goes dark, so be it. Also, if you are a Harris book reader, you know that Sam has some talents we have not yet seen on the show...ahem.
