Flying/floating Eric really made my day. "Can all vampires fly?" "Can all humans sing?" That scene had the lovely quiet magic of the Jason/Amy V trips last season...
The werewolf storyline is just one cringe-inducing moment after another. 4 episodes in and I'm just not feeling it. It's a shame, too, because aside from that aspect, this was a really well-written episode. I am loving Bill's story arc - the self-hatred, the tragedy, the desperation to cling to some shred of humanity. Given the high drama and often high camp aspects of the vampire world, it's surprising that his story manages to be so moving.
I LOVE LOVE Eric and Lafayette's scenes. They're playing off each other this season even better than last season, and it's the only time Eric doesn't come off as a major asshole now that Godric's gone. Actually, to be fair, his desire to protect Pam was a rare unselfish moment, too. Poor Pam :(, but what a major bitch move blaming Bill! LOL
I'm also loving the Franklin/Tara ride. He makes for a hilarious and delectable stalker.
I even like Sam's staggeringly pathetic family. Yeah, aside fromt he werewolf shit, this epsiode was all win.
Man, this episode was angsty. Bill, Alcide, Hoyt...very sad to watch.
I'm liking most of the storylines (especially what's going on with Eric and the Magister), but Sam's and Jason's stories are kind of starting to bore me. They don't quite match pace with the rest of what's going on.
I'm very curious to see where Jason's leads... I get a feeling it will dovetail somehow with the other balls they are putting in the air. And what about Crystal and him? We've seen so much advertising material hooking them together. Something's coming there, and her family is bizarre, wonder where that will go...
Franklin and Lorena are delicious villians, and the actors are just amazing this season.
I love the weres, their creepy nazi vampire king... all the growling, the rituals. I love how the weres tend to grunt and growl in human form a bit too. Though I'm still MASSIVELY depressed that BSG actress Katee Sackhoff isn't playing Debbie Pelt, that whole were sequence was very cool.
