Saying she had been anxiously waiting for Godric to come pick her up would've been an exaggeration, but The Queen was waiting for him to arrive ( Read more... )

I didn't know where to focus my sight: the Queen stood there, breathtaking as ever, in the most exquisite room I have ever scene. An ocean of thoughts crashed in my mind as I stood there silently, gazing inside her eyes, remembering a past I had tried so hard to extinguish from my consciousness.

As I stood there, I saw her approach, a small smile playing on her lips letting me know that she knew the effect she had on me. Talking a small breath, I let my eyes shift to the ground as I made a small bow before I spoke:

-Your Majesty, it is my deepest honour to be in your presence once more.

[WHAT IS THIS MYSTERIOUS PAST WE ARE TALKING ABOUT?]

Sophie-Anne could barely surpress the urge of bowing down for Godric, seeing how he was the oldest vampire still around, but she stood tall, her smile widening.

"Please, Godric, come closer, let me look at you. I haven't seen you in quite a while, I think I have a right to get a closer look!" She giggled lightly, holding her hand out for him.

I took her small hand in my one, remembering her cold touch and softness as if I just had held it the night before. There were so many things I wanted to say to her but decided against it -it wasn't the time nor place, specially when we were surrounded by so many humans.

"Tell me, my Queen, how have you been?"

When Godric's fingers wrapped around Sophie-Anne's, it felt like a worry she'd had for long but had never knewn that it had been there just fell off her shoulders, and her smile widened even more.

Squeezing his fingers lightly, she breathed out, "It's such a pleasure to see you again, Godric." Answering his question, she added, "I've been wonderful; even better now that you are here. How are you, my dear? How's that death wish coming along?"

The playful tone in her voice a clear sign of her just joking, she delicately tugged on his hand. "Come, sit with me!"

She asked what I fear the most, as I haven't told her about my plan of sharing blood with Pam. I wasn't certain which would turn out to be her reaction, yet I did know it wasn't going to be pleasant.

Closing my eyes for a couple of second, having the urge to take an unnecessary deep breath, I decided that the best course of action was to tell her the truth.

"As you know Pam is helping me with getting inside the Fellowship. I'm going to Shreveport to discuss this matter with her... and to share blood. I need our bond to be stronger than ever with her. She is my bloodline, and therefore, we already have a connection, but he have never bonded, so this something I must -we must- do."

Upon hearing that, Sophie-Anne could feel her lips pressing together in a thin line, her jaw pushing forward. This definitely wasn't the most pleasurable thing she'd heard all day long, but there was worse, she reminded herself.

After several more seconds had passed, she forced a smile onto her face before remarking, "Well, at least it's not one of those pathetic excuses of a vampire, and it is indeed important..."

Trailing off, she gave him another stern look before staring stubbornly ahead into the night.

Her discomfort with my honesty was palpable -she wasn't happy I was not planning on bonding just with her. On the contrary, I had the feeling she knew my bonding with Pam would be more significant as she was my bloodline. This made me wonder if she ever felt regret that I hadn't been her maker. Granted, I new her when she was already been converted, but she never spoke of him or her, and I did remember the look she used to give Eric and I when she thought we weren't paying attention - one of longing, for lack of a better word.

"Your not happy, I can see that. Wouldit be possible to make you understand or my explanations are unwanted?"

One of the reasons why Sophie-Anne had been chosen to be Queen long, long ago had been because she was able to read the thoughts of others and sense emotions. So of course, when Godric went silent, she opened her mind, feeling around until she could hear his thoughts.

She pursed her lips, followed by a slight chuckle as she turned her head back to him. "Nothing that comes out of your mouth is unwanted, darling, apart from all the times when you talk about surrendering yourself to the Fellowship of the sun."

Sliding her hand over his arm, she finally settled her hand on his, holding on to it as he navigated the car through the streets.

Yes, I am now-- one of my humans wanted to play a silly little human game and I completely forgot about the time, as it involved taking our clothes off...
