Well,
last Friday, even with his exploding bowels, Monty made it to puppy school. He is extremely hyper when he's there. Digs playing with and hanging out with the other puppies.

He graduated Magna Cum Puppia and I got to take a picture of him being held by Julian the puppy trainer:

That vid is super cute! Which PetsMart do you go to for the training?

Eglinton and Laird location.

Julian is pretty good - although loud - and the training is, to be honest, the same training I've read about via my Aunt. She paid a LOT more money for similar command training. I think her cost was $200+ and the PetSmart one is like $120 for 8 weeks. I think it's a fair deal - the really hard part is committing the time to actually USE and practice the training :)

Ain't that the truth. How well has he picked it up?

The most important command, imho, is the "leave it!" command - and that one has to be reinforced with the tone of voice and a yank on his leash - just a gentle yank.. nothing too severe, unlike that Simpson's episode with Miss Winthrop the dog trainer:Martin: How can we tell if we're doing this maneuver effectively?
Miss Winthrop: The dog's eyes will cross, and his tongue will protrude and change color, ever so slightly.
Bart: Is my dog dead, Ma'am?
Miss Winthrop: Ah ha ha, you don't know how often I'm asked that. `Choke chain' is a misnomer. Trust me. They are always breathing.
He's usually pretty good with that one ( ... )
