I don't think you are a nervous parent at all. Having had a dehydrated pet hospitalized for three days (she had vomitted all night back in 2000) on iv fluids, I think you are/were smart to contact the vet. Pets (like babies) do get dehydrated fairly fast. BTW, boiled rice is excellent for pets with diarhea.
Definitely take the food away...he might have eaten something bad for him outside off the ground. If he's not throwing up its probably not anything serious, but definitely get him checked out and let us know how he's doing!
i hope he's ok!! we give the dogs rice when they get the runs, helps bind the poop.. but they the large breeds, not sure how it might affect him, cause he's so little..
I've read about the rice / boiled chicken thing - I may try that after going to the vet - I don't think this is too serious but I'm just playing it safe - he's in my lap now (at the vet in an hour from now) - and I just noticed that he lost a tooth (got the tooth when I wondered what he was chewing on).
thebabynancy thinks this may just be hormonal - and it could very well be - I just want to be safe/sure about it.
of for sure! best to play it safe, i hope his check-up went ok!! she's got Stella, so she knows what she's talkin about! .. i hope he does feel better soon/ definitly gotta meet Monty someday :)
I read your later post, so I'm glad he's going to be ok. Dogs can be very sensitive when they eat weird/new things. Welcome to the world of "stinkybum". Morgan always gets it if I don't microwave her chicken after I make chicken broth and give her the leavins'.

It may just be hormonal - after all.. he's only 5 months and I just noticed (like I caught it as it happened) that he's lost one of his baby teeth.
