And I'm having difficulty locating sand in Victoria - I have to find a beach because all the stuff down around the harbour area and such is a rocky shoreline :(

Look for a sign on the wall leading up to the second floor involving astronauts and I'll tell ya the story....

I'll be staying in Richmond (on Westminster) tonight and tomorrow night.
I'll probably take the sky train into downtown - the office is at 1075 West Georgia - and then I'll grab the ride with you back out to Metrotown (which I've heard has been recently renovated etc. etc.):-)

It's Vancouver/West Van/North Van that's pricey. :)
Victoria is even SLOWER paced than Vancouver.. hehe.. must be all the "herb" that people tend to ingest out here.

If you were to make the big move -- and yes, I really do think you should consider it -- I'd suggest Vancouver over Victoria, unless you're feeling compelled to slow down as you approach your golden years. (This from a guy who's what....five months younger than you?)
Victoria is slower because there are more retirees per capita than just about anywhere else in the country. It is, after all, home to the "newly wed and nearly dead." I think you'd go nuts after a while. Nice place to visit and all that.
