They'd been on their vacation for two weeks, and every night Teddy crashed the moment he was in bed, sleeping soundly until morning when he was up with the sun, racing to go again.  Harry had been with them for a few days, and though it took Teddy a day to bounce back from missing him the boy was happier then Remus had seen him for a while.  This ( Read more... )

It really was beautiful. Dora could have spent hours sitting on the porch just staring out of the water. She hadn't realised how much she'd missed just being outside, not that she'd change her current living arrangements.

Remus wore what Dora had jokingly called his vacation uniform; khakis and a long sleeve button-down, no shoes. Thought Teddy had asked a few times why daddy didn't wear a swimsuit, by now he had gotten used to mum being the one to take him in the water while dad watched. Remus didn't want to explain the scars to his son, not until he was older. And he'd never been comfortable without a shirt on, other then rare occasions. Dora could talk him out of it pretty easily.

"Are you warm enough?" he asked while they still stood on the porch. He was sure she was tired of the same question every night, but he had to ask.

Dora was only wearing shorts and a shirt over her swimsuit, but the night was quite warm and she was sure if it got colder she would find Remus' body would provide her with enough heat to keep her from feeling it.

"I'm fine, love." She reached up on tiptoes to kiss him softly, thanking him for worrying about her.

"To the left or the right tonight?" he asked as they padded onto the sand. It was still warm between his toes, and not far away was the remains of today's sand castle.
