DVD Mishaps and Misdemeanors

I am trying mightily to ignore the fact that Season 2 of Rome is coming out on the 7th because even though it's reasonably priced I am so broke it's not even funny. Actually, it is kinda funny because there's no one to blame but myself and I hate that. I keep telling myself that I have season 2 on another ::ahem:: medium and therefore I do not ( Read more... )

OOOHHH - best of luck. I hate when I do that - lose a disc.

But good about writing the ship manifesto! I'll check it out!!!

Hope your searching goes well - and that you find a way to get the second season of Rome. Great great show.

I just got back from storage and I found it in the first place I looked: still inside an old DVD player I don't even remember using and that I almost gave away to charity with this last move. I do this kind of thing way too often and I'd be scared that early senility was setting in if it wasn't for the fact that I've been like this forever. Oh sad...

Thank you for the good wishes, sweetheart. I'm sure I'll get Rome sooner or later. I'm just way too spoiled and used to getting everything right now. I can still enjoy all the episodes it's just that I love having the DVD's.

I really do hope that you check out the manifesto and enjoy it. Zeke and LT (Myron) are such great characters. They've really captured my attention.

YEA!!! Glad you fond it and so quickly!

But please - don't even think that it's a sign of some early-onset mental thing; if so, I'm sharing it with you and I don't have time for it. I prefer to think of it as simply having too many things to think about and getting easily distracted. Pretty men do that.

And I will definitely check out the ship manifesto - that's a great site to (I assume you're doing it for that community?)

For what little it's worth, I've been fighting the same control issues with the acquisition of the second (and now *sigh* third) seasons of Deadwood. I've conned myself by arguing that I will not get those seasons on pro-dvd (with the wonderful 'extras') until Milch gets the movie ready to go. That saves me that much for a little longer, right?

I have just saved to disc, and deleted from my hardrive, a lot of loved stuff. If I lose these discs now, I fear I may cry. And then kill someone. Just cause I need the room on my laptop for my new job! PAH! Lol! Glad you found it!!

I use to be really bad about saving files to disc but after a computer died on me and took everything with it (music, pictures, stories - everything!) I learned my lesson. And cried and cried. Take it from someone who is a champion at hiding things from herself: put your discs somewhere safe and obvious. Do not leave them in machines. ::throws up hands::

Wait. You can use computers for work??? I thought they were just for fandom purposes. Wow... ::big grin::

Thank you! I was ridiculously happy to find the DVD, too. I think if I hadn't of found it right away I would have started going through other peoples storage units just to be sure.

Oh no, the big clean! That sucks :( Its never happened to me *touch wood* but my laptop did crash out on me once - it wouldnt turn on! Thankfully when it was fixed nothing had been harmed. Ive been meaning to back-up my stuff since then, but you know how it is... lol!

I KNOW! : P Hahaha, if this interferes with anything fannish or joyful I will have to seriously consider two separate computers for work and play... and also a way of selling a kidney ;)

The big clean ... lol! Even when it was supposedly fixed I wouldn't go near it because it was the computer that ate my life. I took it very personally.

... and also a way of selling a kidney.

Not that I've checked or anything ::ahem:: but I hear you only really need one. Just sayin'.
