BookBinding: Getting Started

May 10, 2010 23:33

A couple years ago I went to a workshop for bookbinding that turned out to be a bust for a beginner like me.  I put what few supplies I had away but over time I started collecting how-to books, YouTube videos and a DVD along with paper, waxed thread, stamps and ink to make an assortment of books.  ::ahem::  I have yet to make one.

What follows will be my first attempt: )

The paper is from a collection by K&Company. Lots to choose from which made choosing difficult.

I'm trying to keep myself focused and committed so that I don't stuff it in drawer when I hit a snag. So far, I'm making more progress than I did when I went to a workshop.

btw: ::icon love:: Chris reading breaks my heart in a very good way.

I know, right? A friend and I have had a few discussion about what the heck would he be reading? That's one of those super itchy mysteries that makes me crazy but in a good way. A literate gunslinger. OMG so much love.

I've been wanting to do this for a long time and going through the steps here keeps it moving forward. I'm hoping my flist will give me a good shove if I stall somewhere. :)
