I realized I hadn't posted in a while!

Where have my bloggish manners gone? Out the window with our living room square footage, I think. Actually, I have been busy taking photos of all of my husband's saltwater fish and corals. It's been a change to photograph things underwater and through glass. The lights also put a serious blue cast on everything that makes white balance almost ( Read more... )

Those are AWESOME photos!!! What kind of camera are you using, and what settings do you have it on?

My camera took a beating when I got run over, but it's still working. But it's been all screwed up and takes crappy quality photos ever since my mom messed with the settings more than a year ago. I don't know what she did, so I don't know how to put it back the way it was. :(

Let's see, I have a Canon Rebel XTi (400D). I have several different lenses - an 18-55mm, a 75-300mm, and a 50mm prime. For some of the saltwater aquarium shots (although not these 4) I also use magnification filters on the front (I have a 2x, 4x, 6x and 10x). One day I hope to have an actual macro lens, because I LOVE closeup photography and how the most common things can look abstract if you get in close enough. They cost a lot though ( ... )

I really need to take a photography class!! In fact, when my mom bought me this camera she also purchased classes for me, which I never took - since it meant going down to Jacksonville for a week. *DUH!*

And I am going to keep this camera FOREVER. It broke my fall and took the brunt of my upper-body impact. I have not a single scrape on my arms, hands, face or elbows, and my wrists aren't broken. It happened so quickly and without any warning that I had absolutely ZERO reaction time. One nano-second I was reaching for water, the next I was on the ground under the tire. Reflexes don't kick in if your brain doesn't have time to receive the input. Thank you my beloved camera, for saving me from a whole lot more damage.

CANON: It takes a lickin' and keeps on clickin'. <3
