Hi, Lauren! These pictures are so great. Definitely brought a smile to my face...a nice way to start the day! I'm glad the kids have an aunt who they can also stay with. It must have been so hard deciding whether or not to report, but it sounds like you made the best decision for now.
Everyone looks great and happy in the photos, even if things aren't perfect in real life.
It's almost sadder to find out the kids' real complaints about their life -- of course they are sick of being really poor.
Cut yourself some slack -- you are still only 8 weeks postpartum! And I always find that the huge calorie drain of nursing peaks at 5-8 months, when the baby drinks a lot more milk, so you may find it a lot easier to lose weight then.
I feel terrible for those kids and I know you guys are doing everything you can to help them. Is there something some of us on LJ could do? Could we send gift cards to you or other items that they need? I know you said most of their stuff goes missing once they go home anyway, but I keep thinking there has to be some way to help out. Most of us have so much and I would love to help them (and you!) out.
I don't know how you do it all! I'm so inspired by you and how you always find something positive to laugh about. Hope the kids will be okay back with family.
