I've noticed I've not posted on here for quite a while!  I've been posting mostly on FarceButt because I've been thinking only small thoughts.  ;)

Many websites could be vastly improved by adding Like/Dislike features.   Especially fanfiction sites, both for stories and reviews. (I'm talking to you FanFiction.net!)   If you have nothing truly

If you get right down to it? Never mind all the "people want this to be their safe space" rationales floating around out there, which are true but also overly optimistic; I think most sites don't have Dislike buttons because they don't want to encourage their users to hurt other users' feelings and thereby drive them away from using said site.

*ahem* And regarding the fanfic "Like" thing? That's definitely why I always post to AO3 before fanfiction.net these days. Well, and all the expanded tagging and categorization features. But really, the ability to Kudo a fic without commenting, plus with the ability to comment-thread like on LJ when you do want that? Much better than fanfiction.net.
