Today worked out rather good.  The big thing to bring up was me getting a blog on New West.  This is sweet, because it means that I have a source of income that comes completely from writing.  Also, it means that I can actually put freelance writer on my resume.

Curiously, there were a lot of things in your Prez and the Rez article that didn't really get expounded upon. I couldn't tell if you were applauding Obama, endorsing McCain, or just saying that presidents fail in general when it comes to dealing with Indian issues. :o Clarify prz?

I wasn't applauding anyone. Just exploring the issue. I am saying that there is failure in general, though. I'm sure as hell not endorsing McCain, just because he's good for Natives. I do try to keep the rest of the world in mind.

That, and a lot of the issues I'm going to cover are painfully litigious or slow as a glacier with a pulled hammy. I'm going to have to tread a bit light so I can actually have material week after week.

Meh, I don't envy you your job at all. Not that writing is a bad way to make a living, but I'd go nuts ... and I like it.

Yeah, I am approaching it with trepidation. Its not easy, but at the same time, I'd rather be getting paid for and stressed because of this job then any other kind.

As far as McCain goes, he's the least despicable Republican I've seen since Bob Dole. Obama seems nice, but he hasn't shown that there's more then sizzle to his steak. I'm politically nihilistic to boot, so its hard for me to keep up the topic for too long without lapsing into doom speak.

You should try twitter more, if you can't get words moving on LJ. Its amazing how much fun one can have writing a single sentence.
