BSG fic: Home (1/3)

This is my secret santa fic for puszysty who asked for Gaeta/Hoshi and fluff. Unfortunately, I suck at writing fluff and Gaeta/Hoshi doesn’t much float my boat. Instead, I tried to come up with something else she might enjoy. I hope I succeeded! And there even is a tiny bit of Gaeta/Hoshi in it, too ( Read more... )

I said gen was cool too. :)
Oh no, poor Felix. How did he end up in Germany with amnesia?
My German is rusty, but did the nurse say he had a bet running on what language Felix spoke? Lol.

I'm pleased you like it! It took me a long time to come up with it. Obviously, you need to write a lot more so I'll know more of your fic kinks when the next exchange comes around. ;)

Heh, yes, the nurse had a bet running about the language.

This is quite intriguing. I'm so curious who this mysterious gun-toting woman is, so I hope you post the rest soon!

Also, I especially loved this line for some reason: He wasn’t quite able to cut through the pain and shadows that New Caprica had left behind but he managed to shoo them away so softly that Felix almost hadn’t caught it the first time it happened.

I'm glad you like it! I'm determined to finish all of the fic within next week but as I'm a very slow writer right now, I can't make any promises.

Oh, must this must be finished, because I'm brimming with questions on what happened, how he got there, and quite worried about our boy. Also, because it's just beautifully written.

Thank you! I'll definitely finish it, and fast I hope, though I can't make any promises. I'm glad you like it that much. Your comment made me smile. :)

Obviously, I've already read this, but I just wanted to say that it's so much fun! I'm ready and willing to beta the next segment when you've got it. I also am totally up for more brainstorming with you, although really, you did all the brainstorming. I was just your sounding board. :)

I think what's the most fun about this fic so far is how it's this fun puzzle trying to figure out along with Felix what's going on around him, what people are saying to him, what he's looking at, etc. Felix is so smart, the way he's quickly figuring out that they're trying languages on him, and that he must be on another planet. In particular, I liked this line a lot. Nice bitter irony here that seems so very Felix:
Frustrated about the words coming back to him without a context, Felix thought that whatever New Caprica was, he’d done one hell of a good job about that advice.

But the line that got me the most somehow was this much simpler one:
Bad things could happen to him just because.Even without his memories, Felix somehow knows this about his ( ... )

I will definitely need you for the next installment, so thanks in advance. :)

I'm so pleased that you like this fic because I'm having a lot of fun with it too, although it's taking me a long time to get it done.

Oooh German chocolate cake! That explains a lot. Mainly, why that cake really doesn't look very German. ;)

Thank you for writing a review even although you'd already beta'd the story. :)

Oh, now I’m really intrigued! Felix waking up randomly in the middle of the road in Germany? With some woman with a gun who tried to kill him? What madness is going on here, I ask you!

The fact that I understand not a word of the German probably gives me the slightest idea how frustrated Felix must be, which is wonderful. (Also the knowledge that in fact, all the German is done correctly in spite of the fact that it means nothing to me ;) ) I love all the snippets of memory you’ve peppered in here. It reminds me of remembering a dream. A name, a face, a phrase, but none of it’s coherent when you wake up. I especially love him remembering Louis, and Baltar, and trying so hard to remember Dee. And it’s so heartbreaking that not even the memories of Galactica really feel safe to him. Which leaves me really intrigued about the timeline, at what point Galactica time did he end up randomly on Earth?

How would you know? I might have made it gibberish just to be evil. :D

I'm pleased that you like the story, although it's yet another thing getting in the way of my writing our fic. ;) Thinking of it, maybe I'll have an opportunity to work on that one tonight...
