Everyone remembers what they were doing at that precise moment when the 9/11 tragedy happenned. Whether one was washing the dishes or having a cafe au lait or doing number two in the banyo, that one activity will always forever be seared into one's memory and attached to the image of two planes hitting the two towers of the World Trade Center. i was in irvine, woke up to the phone ringing, it was stephan (back in manila) and he said something about the WTC being attacked and i was like that was like 6 years ago or something. go back to sleep and he was like NO TURN ON YOUR TV NOW. and i was like what?

then the second plane came.

i was wide awake after that.

buti ka pa it happenned in the morning. kami gabi eh. we were wide till the wee hours of the morning waiting for doomsday to happen.

you're right. i was waiting for the SATC telecast as well.... and yes, i still remember that feeling. vividly.

i saw the tower up in smoke. i was stunned cause it looked too much like a scene from a movie and i couldn't believe everything was unfolding in real time. it was too surreal. and then the second plane hit and i could no longer take my eyes off the screen.

and then one of the towers crumbled. goosebumps.
