I rode the maglev from the airport in to Pudong. Totally cool. Too short a trip though. But hey, it's a muthafuckin maglev!

I had a chance to walk around Shanghai a bit on Wednesday. Yup, it's polluted. However, visibility isn't as bad as some photos would have you believe. Given the humidity (~90%) I would expect more haze. That's where the good ( Read more... )

Wow, what an adventure. (I hope that seeing your foreign travel as adventurous [zomg, exotic!] isn't too totally pampered/privileged/naive of me.) Reading this, I'm visualizing that link you posted a while back with all those photos of industrial China.

Heading to China, even the civilized-ish area of China, definitely qualifies as both adventurous and exotic. Feel free to say so.

Gunk. My vs of Firefox says gunk is spelled right. Great description of Shanghai. Sounds like a blast!
