(FANMADE) Tron 3 Trailer

Apr 25, 2011 13:30

No one's sure what exactly this is yet or who made it, (the uploader says someone e-mailed it to him) so keep in mind this trailer has a 99.9% chance of being fake, especially since none of the actors from the first two films are featured and the actors that are in are...not that great. Still, the CG effects are really good and the ending is ( Read more... )

This is probably fake. Or at least I'm going to keep telling myself that. I mean, it certainly fits with some of the hints they've dropped so far regarding the MCP, and it would be a lot easier for them to keep the filming of something like this quiet if they just used no-name actors rather than some of the stars from Legacy.

But... it's probably fake. Probably. The effects are super-neat, though. And SARK--! AND the MCP!

Thanks for sharing!

*keeps telling self that it is probably fake* (Of course, the best way to know, I guess, would be to wait and see if it gets taken down in the next few days. Hm.)

Yeah, it does dovetail pretty closely with what we've heard regarding Tron 3's story - although, I guess a fan devoted enough to make a trailer that looked that good would also be keeping tabs on all the Tron 3 tidbits too. Auugh, so many questions. D:

The guy who uploaded it is the same guy who first posted the leaked 'The Next Day' videos from the Blu-Ray, which got yanked by Disney within a few days. If they claim this too, then, well, there's our answer.

Very true. Honestly, I can see this being either a really well-made fan video, or a somewhat half-assed effort by Disney. It's got approximately the same production values as 'The Next Day' stuff, leaving aside the effects.

I did notice the uploader was the same guy from before. Of course, it's entirely possible that it'll get pulled because of the music--though in that case I think it'd show up as the record company rather than the studio removing it? Maybe? Definitely something to keep an eye on, anyway.

Agreed that it's probably fake. The light cycle and the gridsuit don't look nearly as good as the ones in Legacy, for one thing. And there's no way they'd have a full trailer for a movie which hasn't been (as far as I've heard) greenlit, anyway.

Fortunately, it is also probably awesome! :3 Yay, Sark! Tron stuff all over the real world! And I love that the badass!hacker is a woman...

Judging by the way he labeled the video, the uploader seems to be thinking that if this is legit, (and there's probably a better chance of being struck by lightning and winning the Powerball at the exact same moment than this being real) it's a teaser to be shown at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, like the proof-of-concept teaser for Legacy that was screened at SDCC in '08. I remember reading in 'The Art of Tron Legacy' book that the audience and blogosphere reaction to that teaser was what finally got Legacy the green-light, so it's not...unheard of, I guess? I admit I know next to nothing of how that works. :/

We shall see. I think it's worth noting that the SDCC teaser trailer was pretty much unheard of... but then again, that means there is precedence for crazy stuff when it comes to Tron! :3

I hope it's fake, but good enough)
and MCP is Dillinger now, not Sark, so it might be fake:/

A familiarity with many fan films leads me to believe this is certainly one of the nicer ones, but nothing more. (Plus the fact the sequel still hasn't been officially written yet and it's been repeated endlessly that Sam and Quorra will remain at the center of the story.) Still, I enjoy it quite a bit and it is done well, with a real attempt to match up a lot of the style. I hope to find out whoever's actually responsible for this, because those are some truly awesome CG and direction skills. I do detect a hint of what I want to call "Canadian pronunciation", but that may not actually help identify its origin.

This franchise has been more than welcoming to fan interaction. I just hope fans aren't starting to take advantage of it and claiming their stuff is legit. That kind of throws the balance and will make Disney have second thoughts about how open they should be in the future.

I've no doubt that it's fan-made, but as fan films go this is superb. I *LOVE* knowing that this level of interest exists in TRON!
