I am a member of my alma mater's email discussion list. While it is mostly populated by sports statistics, it occasionally contains interesting gems for discussion. The whole fucking point of TENURE was so that profs could teach and speak without fear of retalitation.
We have now matured enough that every admin. knows how to get around that problem and dick bash anyone that pisses them off, from pre-school to post graduate.
Need new rules, more lube.

That is an extremely excellent point that I failed to even consider at the time. I've just never been able to make sense of the whole "WE MUST VALUE DIVERSITY BY ALL THINKING AND SPEAKING EXACTLY ALIKE" movement. *shudder*
