After months of not being able to play with my sounds, I decided to venture into an unknown realm. I removed the ring and verified that I could reinsert it easily a few times. Then, feeling confident, I proceeded to abuse myself in a very delightful manner for about an hour and a half. Afterward, I decided I'd put the ring back in prior to cleanup

yea I'd bet on it being inflammation, take about 4 ibuprofen, (or as close to 800 Milligrams as you can without going over) and wait for a few hours. don't worry you're "little guy'll" be fine ;)

Or, for the impatient, you can go to a piercer and have them use a taper to open things up and rethread the ring. :-) I'll be doing that after work today... hopefully on my way to the munch.

Well, as it turns out, in this case it was exactly what I needed to do. When I checked in with the original piercer, he said "no, don't wait... get it rethreaded as soon as possible." The piercer I met with, upon seeing the inflamation, said exactly the same thing. She added, "If you'd waited another day this probably would have required repiercing." yikes! And repiercing, for the unitiated, is several times more painful than the original. Pain pig that I am, it was quite painful the first time.
