DO NOT WORRY. I WAS NOT GOING TO ADD ANY ROBOT!SEX ANYWAY! I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to break any rules with this fic, or I'd have to scrap it and start again ;~; but it is good to know my dorky trio of non-sex still fit! :D

LOL yes that's fine. the 'bang' in the troisbang doesn't actually stand for sessy times. and i think we kind of went over this before but the ot3 doesn't even necessarily have to be ~romantic~, it can even be mutual BFFery or what have you. however the author would like to interpret it!

Maybe it's just me, but the idea of actively inviting people to leave feedback/critique on my work kind of terrifies me. :'( Maybe it's because I've never had a friend or beta who was willing to shred a fic of mine to pieces, before. And it's not like I feel like I have delusions about my writing? I guess I'm just afraid that someone else will say that what I see as my strengths are actually flawed, or vice-versa.

I dunno, I almost feel like I should apply for a random beta somewhere and just, like, pop the cherry. Get it over with. Tell them to do their worst. :| Has anyone tried a method like this before?

I know what you mean! Up until this month I'd never had anyone beta for me before. What I did was ask a friend in another fandom whose writing I adored and who seemed to have a very streamlined editing process (she's written meta on her own fics before). It was really great. She helped me rethink a lot of lines that, I realized upon a second reading, sounded awkward, as well as pointed out parts of the story I should've expanded on, etc.

I'd say ask someone you really admire as a writer. Although applying for a random beta sounds like an interesting idea, too.

Someone you really admire as a writer? Be they published famous authors, or interwebs fandom writers (or both!) - just someone whose writing makes you stop every so often and go 'Whoa!' etc etc

tbh i probably like too many authors to name. like tolkien, terry pratchett, aldous huxley... just loads. :D

fandom-wise i adore fleshflutter - omg i am not even into spn AT ALL but her fics just blow me the hell away - and coyotecolored, warmboys, aronnax, and saengie. many others that i didn't mention, but a lot of them aren't into kpop or actively writing anymore now. D:

couple of new writers that i find really promising are remixied, cascades, and amaelamin_. :D all suju though!
