Oh, poor Guy...

This was lovely. I really liked the line, A sandy edifice, a palace of his own labour gently burying him alive. Gently, just as she had tugged at his hand to show him what a world other than blackness was. It's... so good. The juxtaposition of "gently" with the overwhelming nature of the realization he's just had... awesome.

I'm very glad that line came across to you the way I intended it to. I thought how the greatest disasters in one's life can come in the quietests of manners and I found it ironically beautiful.
