You know, I loved this the first time I read it, and I still love it now. Your style is wonderful, and I think your characters are pretty dead on. It's wonderful

Another brilliant chapter!
I loved hearing Pete's story & seeing his reaction to what Addie has told him.
'And he surprised her by letting her see he’d been listening. She couldn’t remember the last time someone had actually listened to her' - That sums up Addie's situation so well to me. She just needs someone to be there for her.
Looking forward to more.

Yeah, I've always wondered if it would've made a difference if someone had asked for her side of the story. Everyone just assumed Derek's story was the whole thing, so... yeah. I overanalize fictional people's relationships :P

Pete's story. Heartbreaking and makes me think, even thought I avidly avoid shipping Pete/Addison that they would have been quite great for each other before they got ruined by other people. At any rate, this sentence made it for me because there is nothing more awkward than this I have found.

"...but he didn’t know how hard it was to find something to say after an I’m sorry."

Well, as much of a Pete/Addie shipper as I am, even I know they're too damaged to be good for each other in the series right now. That's why I spend long periods of time in my Happy Place, where they do stand a chance :P
