After almost 2 days, I finally got power back. While I have always been empathetic to those who become victims of hurricanes, I think the last 48 hours have given me a much better understanding of what actually happens. I was chatting with a co-worker this morning (her son's family is still without power today) and we agreed that losing the contents of the fridge/freezer and having to replace some shingles/siding is a whole lot better than having your worldly possessions scattered over a three county area and not knowing if your friends and extended family made it out safely. We are very lucky.
