Mel is still wearing the dress. She's made a pot of tea, and she's holding a cup, biting hard on her lip. Sarah should be here, soon. Right? Right?

Sipping the tea and trying to take deep breaths, she waits for Sarah.

Sarah PINpoints to the beach. She's changed out of the velvet robes, but still looks a little disheveled, like she got ready in a rush.

For a moment, all she can hear, all she can feel is the humming. Which is oddly reassuring, in a way. Her powers aren't tied to the City's machines. Not tuning.

But... this means that she's pretty sure it's the other option. It isn't a LOL.

She makes her way to the compound, and finds Melinda in the kitchen. "There you are. Did you..." she trails off, staring at Melinda's dress. She recognizes it.

"Let me guess. You woke up wearing that?"

Fidget. "Yeah. I did. I didn't get out of it because it fit pretty well, and..." Mel looks down at the cup of tea.

Frown. "Why? Sarah, what's going on?"

Sarah wants to explain everything to Melinda all at once, but that would come out as a mess of gobbledegook and flailing arms. She pauses, takes a few deep breaths, then sits down.

"I woke up this morning in a velvet dress I didn't remember putting on. I accidentally broke a glass in the bathroom and then, somehow, put it back together. With my mind." She leaves out the glass turning into a sand mouse. She still can barely believe that happened.

"Mel, I think..." Another deep breath. "I think I have your powers."

"A velvet -" Mel takes a deep breath in. Then, when Sarah says about what she thinks happened, Mel blinks, then stares at her a little.

After a second, she sits down. "I - how did it even happen?" There's a tiny whine in there.
