Chapter 8
He woke up in a partly empty bed. A sigh crossed his lips when both of his feet touched the ground. “Yunho must’ve left already…” Jaejoong said to himself as he took a look at the alarm clock. 9:30 am. He groaned and fell back on the bed.
The previous night had been a very awkward and unpleasant night. It was the first time in their relationship that something hadn’t felt right, and it was all because of him. In the end he was the one rejecting Yunho’s hormones and refused to have sex with him.
The fact that Yunho left without waking him up, without the chance for him to make breakfast for him, or to walk him to the door like he always did. Tears slowly came to the surface and dropped down on the sheets.
How could Yunho do that to him?
Now he was feeling even more guilty than before. It seemed like work was slowly taking over Yunho’s life.
Of course he was proud of him, he was going to get promotion soon and then Jaejoong would support him as much as he can… But that would mean Yunho would be at work a lot., and that Jaejoong wouldn’t see him as much as he used to. He took his pillow and hugged it tightly. “Y-Yunnie…”
Unfortunately the man he longed for wasn’t able to hear his heartbreaking call. Yunho was already busy talking to people. People who weren’t Jaejoong.
Why didn’t he just say yes to Yunho last night, then this shit didn’t happen.

All students were gathered in the immense airport hall, waiting desperately to meet their American pen pals. Well, not everyone. “This really sucks.” Xiah groaned when he tried to break the sign where Micky’s name was written on. “Why do they have to come this soon?!”
“Don’t be so pessimistic you!” Sungmin wacked him on the head with Max’s sign. “Just try to be nice to him, put all the nasty mails aside and start over new!
But Xiah had an whole other plan. He had the perfect plan! Ditch Micky Park asap! He glared at his best friend, who was checking if his clothes were still in place, when he saw the smile on the guy’s face he heaved. “Are you really smiling because that Max guy’s going to come?”
Sungmin blushed and quickly turned around. “I’m just… excited..”
“Hmf! Excited my ass!”
“See! That’s exactly why Micky didn’t like you in the first place, you don’t try to be nice to anyone!” Sungmin backfired.
“Ya! I’m the nicest person in the universe! Other people are the blame!”
Then their little argument was abruptly stopped by Taegoon, who happily waved his arms in the air. “Students! The plane has arrived!”
The whole group of students made their way to the flight exit, excitingly talking with each other, quickly checking if they had their signs and presents at hand and.. then finally the American students had arrived in Korea.
The students of each school quickly sought for their partners and were busy talking. Xiah held his sign as low was possible, but still his partner was able to find him.
When Xiah heard his name being called by a low, but warm-edged voice it was the first time he met Micky Park’s eyes.
A weird, ticklish feeling invaded his body and flew through all his limbs. Dumbstruck his mouth fell open and eyes grew wide.
Because the fact was, Micky Park was hot.
Suddenly the whole area seemed to be filled up by pink clouds, floating hearts, rainbows and unicorns, and angel choirs singing, Xiah didn’t know what happened to him, strangely he seemed to have frozen in place and fiercely stared at his American “friend”.
“Xiah… Hello~ … Earth to Xiah!”
A hard hit on the head woke him out of his imagination. “Ouch! What the hell was that for?!” He yelled.
“You’re spacing out on me, you idiot.” Micky said sleazily, inwardly laughing about the face ignorant Xiah had made before he hit him. “Don’t Koreans usually greet their guests politely?”
Xiah snorted. “Yeah, guests, but you’re no guest for me, you ugly-ass American!”
“I’ll take that as a compliment since the word “ugly” isn’t even able to describe your looks.” Micky fought back, still with that sleazy grin plastered on his perfect face.
“Why you son of a…!”
“Xiah! What did I tell you!” Taegoon quickly interrupted the quarreling youngsters. “Treat your guests with respect! I’m sure the both of you can get along in the progress!”
“Of course, Taegoon-Seongsaengnim!” Micky said politely. “I hope I’ll enjoy my stay here.”
Taegoon smiled brightly and shook Micky’s hand. “I know Xiah can be a burden..”
“HEY!”
“But I just know you’ll enjoy your stay here.”
“Of course.” Why was it that people always disliked him? Xiah huffed and was about to turn around until he suddenly got a suitcase thrown at him, making him fall with the suitcase hitting his head. “Ouch.. Goddamnit you assho-“
“XIAH!”
Micky got down next to Xiah and grinned as he saw the guy’s furious expression. “Well, some people just don’t have the luck.”
A strong urge to punch the guy in the face was getting really tempting, but as he saw his teacher glaring at him with an I’ll kill you it you even think of that”-kind of look, he sighed and pushed the strange feeling he had earlier aside and made sure killing Micky was on top of his to-do list.
On the other side of the group Sungmin was standing opposite Max. The first thing he noticed was the guy was tall.. But not just tall, he was huge. It seemed like, with every step Max took Sungmin shrunk an inch, until they were only an arm length away from each other.
“Lee Sungmin.” He said with a wide grin.
“Y-Yes,… It’s really good to see you.” Quickly Sungmin bowed deeply to Max, greeting him with respect. “I hope you’ll enjoy your stay here!” Max laughed slightly. “Hey, you don’t have to bow for me.” He rested his hands on Sungmin’s shoulders. “I’m not your grandpa.”
“Haha.. Y-Yeah..” He knew very well why he was getting this nervous, finally he could meet the real Max. They had been mailing a lot, also had a few talks through their messengers but still, now the real one was here and Sungmin was flabbergasted at the man’s posture, tall, slim and handsome.
His whole body was shaking when he felt a light squeeze from Max’ hand.
“Hey, you alright?” Sungmin immediately tried to get himself back together and nodded.
“Y-Yes! I feel great!” He just couldn’t hide his enthusiasm, it was hopeless anyway. “So.. How was your flight?”
“Tiring, but we managed.. somehow.” Max said laughing. “But you could say time was flying by rather quickly, it could have been worse.”
“Ah.. I see.”
“Anyway, I’m very glad I can stay here, I mean we became friends in such a short time and I still can’t believe I’m standing right in front of you now.” The guy scratched the back of his head while talking. “Do I sound weird now?”
But Sungmin shook his head, not sure why he would sound weird all of a sudden. “Of course not! I think exactly the same!”
That’s when Max got one arm around Sungmin’s back and pulled him closer. “I’m glad we’re getting along so well, Sungmin-ah.”
Unable to even answer and not even recovered from the sudden closeness of their bodies Sungmin’s cheeks colored to a bright shade of red. If it wasn’t this cool in the main hall of the airport he’d probably melt right there in his arms. From the feeling of that he knew things wouldn’t be the same as before, something told him this guy was going to change his life forever.
Short after everyone found their partners and finally meet Taegoon brought them together, a group mixed of native Koreans and American Koreans, boys and girls. Giddy, exciting and talkative to each other. That’s how Taegoon liked it, the students wouldn’t have any problems getting along.
But one thing got his attention and a concerning feeling reached the surface. The two eyes behind his glasses constantly focused on Xiah and his American partner, bickering about from the beginning.
It could just be a gut feeling, a slight premonition, but he expected those two to cause a lot of trouble in the near future.
It only had to begin, and the beginning had already started.

The ceiling looked interesting only a minute ago, but it was boring the crap out of him the longer he stared at the plain white. He hated that he was incapable of doing things, his abdomen kept growing, he was getting tired easily and just felt like doing nothing at all. Most of the days would just slowly crawl by and end when Yunho comes home.
That’s when Yunho came back on his mind. He’d probably be very busy on that moment, he was a hard worker and he shouldn’t be bother by a burden like he himself was. All was the urge to grab his phone and call Yunho very big.
His eyes mirrored in the display of his phone as he had dialed the number for the umpteenth time already.
To call or not to call, that was the question.
In the end he held the phone by his ear and sighed deeply as he heard the monotone dial tone. The dull sound was ringing through his head until he heard a soft woman’s voice. “Hello, Jung Yunho’s office, this is Solbi speaking.”
“Ehm.. Hello, this is Ju-…., Kim Jaejoong.” He quickly changed. “Is there a possibility to talk to Jung Yunho?”
“I’m sorry sir, Yunho-shii’s currently in a very important business meeting.” Solbi told him. “If you want to leave a message I’ll make sure he’ll get it.”
“N.. No.., it’s not that important..”
“Okay sir, have a nice day.”
“Yeah.. thank you.”
“Bye bye!”
Jaejoong fell back on the couch and groaned. Have a nice day?! How could he have a nice day when Yunho wasn’t there.
He wanted Yunho to be here with him, to hold him tightly and tell him he loved him. He grabbed the closest pillow and hugged it against his chest. The warm fabric made him feel safe.
It felt like Yunho’s warmth.
He shouldn’t even try to call Yunho anyway, not now he was busy enough with getting his earned promotion. He just had to be patient for the time being.
But for how long?
---
Chuckling Solbi pressed the red button of Yunho’s cell phone. Her red-polished nails tapped on the oak desk in satisfaction as a smile cringed on her smooth, doll-like face. Only a slight second later the man she longed to see appeared in the room, with an expression of euphoria. “Yunho-shii, how did it go?”
“Great… Really better than I expected!” Yunho said happily as he got back to his familiar spot behind his desk, only a few meters away from Solbi. “Heechul-shii really got me going and we got on their case for sure.”
“That’s wonderful, Yunho-shii!” Solbi said as she clapped her hands. “I knew you’d do great!”
Yunho smiled gratefully at the assistant and nodded his head once. “Thanks for the support, Solbi-ah.”
“My pleasure..”
“Say, Solbi-ah, did anybody call during the meeting?” Yunho asked her curiously, hoping Jaejoong had tried to call him while he was still working.
Solbi bit her lip and shook her head. “No, nobody called.”
Yunho left out a sigh and rubbed his temples, kind of disappointed about the fact. It was unlike Jaejoong not to call, not on an important day like this. “Alright then..”
“Oh, but Kyuhyun-ah just got you the copies of the transportation case, they’re right there on your desk.”
“Thanks Solbi, well, then I just get back to work ..”
“Good sir.” Solbi lifted herself from her chair and got her mug. “I’m going for another coffee, do you want to join?”
But Yunho shook his head and lifted the said copies to read them carefully. “No, I need to go through these papers before I need to go to Heechul-shii to discuss the future activities, but thanks anyway.”
“Alright, good luck Yunho-shii!” The woman lifted her balled fist and mouthed the word “Fighting!” before she left. But as soon as the door closed behind her that satisfied grin became back.
She slowly got the black cell phone out of the pocket of her skirt and stared at the photo on the display full of disgust. The picture of the happy couple, lips locked and fingers laced together. It made her want to vomit.
The only thing the woman wanted to do is break that cute little couple apart.
And to get Yunho for herself.
