Something I forgot about when I posted this is that I take concrit pretty well but not compliments. I just want to type shut uuuuuup, but my mama raised me better than that.
Shit, though. Shut uuuuup.
I've been writing some original stuff on my own, but I haven't tried to get it published. Too freaked out by the idea, I guess? Idk, I might submit something to a few places this summer, get well and properly rejected so that it's not so scary anymore.
Same question: back at you. You should. Jay ess. Just saying.
I would love to talk to someone about my writing who knows the publishing world at all, given that I have no idea how that stuff works. I will hit you up, especially if I sack up and grow some courage.
One of my girls for life was also an editor for Tor - she knows her shit and I know she really enjoys a lot of the stuff you write. She would probably be willing to give FB, as well.
You kick ass. You write fic that feels solid, like I could go find these characters (the characters you've written, not the guys they're based upon), and they'd be living their lives free of the page. You let your characters have problems and flaws, and it's glorious.
I like how you give each character their little quirks and tics. It makes them so much more real. I also spend a lot of time thinking "I wish I could do that" when I read your fic.
You have such a brilliant way of phrasing things sometimes; a sentence will seem ordinary for a moment and then I'll scroll back up and find something in it that's blown my mind.
Fratboy, Skin of the Canvas and Held and Holding are probably three of my favourite pieces of writing out of everything I've read on livejournal communities. Held and Holding in particular was utterly captivating, as well as being gorgeously hot and funny.
