This is everything I could've asked for in a sequel and more. As much as I like Loki, it gave me a twisted sense of pleasure to read Natasha biting down on his throat like that. Such a badass.

Thank you! I love Loki, too, but I couldn't imagine that scene going any other way. Glad you liked it!

Wow. Just... wow. Finally got the time to read, and I am simply in awe. It's much longer than I thought it would be, and so much more powerful. Loki falling so in... not love, but desire perhaps? Loving the idea of someone caring for him? And Natasha somehow managing to hold out despite everything, keeping herself barely sane and barely herself with all that he did to her was amazingly moving. The part where she bit out his throat, I loved that. It was the bloody apex of the story, only surpassed when he caught her again and kicked her apart. But it was better for her, because she won't bear a monster, as she considers it. ...I am in awe of how much you put into this work. Simply amazing, on every level.

Thank you! Writing the bits from Loki's perspective was especially interesting for me; like you said, it's not that he's in love, exactly, but that he's in love with the idea of someone genuinely caring for him - but only when he's in complete control. The fact that Natasha was essentially his slave is the only thing that made him secure enough to let his guard down (and that is part of his issues with Thor, too, whom he can't control and therefore can't trust). I'm still not sure if Loki was ever aware of his blindness during the course of the story, or if he truly believed she cared for him.

It's much longer than I thought it would be

Heh, this fandom is doing that to me! I have no idea where all this longfic is coming from.

Wow - if you will excuse the hyperbole, this is one of the most well written fanfics I have ever read. I was completely hooked right up to the last section. I was thrown out of the literary 4th wall because, bizarrely I couldn't suspend belief enough to buy that she could bite his throat out, and he would let her. Bullets don't even scratch him, but her plain old incisors tear his flesh and crush cartilage...? But it is a beautiful twist written with mind blowing skill and therefore totally my problem. I'd seriously pay money to read your work.

Wow, thank you so much! That is a wonderful compliment, I'm very flattered!

As for Natasha's strength versus Loki's flesh: my intention was for her superhuman strength to explain why she managed to cause such damage. I'm going off the idea that Steve held his own against Loki without any real injury, and since Natasha's enhancement is based off the super-soldier serum, I figured I could extrapolate that to mean she could cause Loki some real pain if she could get him in a vulnerable spot. That still requires some suspension of belief, though, so I definitely see why that wouldn't work for you! It's a good point you brought up. I'll have to keep that in mind while writing the sequel.
