FINALLY got it. I'm not so sure I liked it. I liked the character bits, but the story fell kinda flat for me. I may have to watch it later when I'm not all Greg!Marina!OMG! but I don't know.
I did like grandpa verbally beating down the idiot therapist at the end.
I totally agree with everything you said about Greg above.
And how funny was it to watch Winnie, Spike, Sam, and Jules watching Greg and Marina, and not even trying to hide it? heh.
Just watched it. And yeah, intense is the word. Not enjoyable, exactly, but intense and thought provoking and a little scary. It genuinely terrifies me that things that even vaguely resemble this story happen in real life.
It gets to join my list "Jules is fabulous and this is why" episodes because of three things - "ooh, boss, that wasn't a thank you, that was a I-wanna-get-me-some-of-that"; "what, I don't get a baseball bat?"; and the expression of utter disdain and bewilderment at the therapist and his 'disease'. I've always liked Amy Jo Johnson's acting but her face while she was talking to the therapist could not have been more perfect.
"Noooooooo!!!! Greg! What the hell are you thinking?!"*vigorous nodding* ITA. I wasn't thinking so much about the hero-worship, though, because I got the impression that Marina would have thought of it herself. Hence the other dates with nice guys who just weren't nice enough. She's had time to think about it, she's had counselling about the whole traumatic experience, she is smart and brave

*nods* And far worse things happen, too.
Jules was just totally made of awesome in this ep. She just kicks ass ;o)
>> Yeah. If they keep her around, I think she's going to be one of those minor characters with whom I fall madly and illogically in love and for whom I construct epic amounts of off-screen and back story in my head. Like Sophie and Clark.
Yeah, she's just one of those characters who are instantly likeable (unlike Natalie) and though I'm not usually one for romance, I'm totally rooting for her and Greg getting together :o)
>> Speaking of Clark, he gets bonus points for being absolutely adorable and really quite rubbish at teenage rebellion. Bless.
Yes! This! Also, I thought it was great that Ed realized he'd been taking Clark for granted and that he was man/father enough to apologize.
Still missed a bit of continuity regarding Spike's dad, but who knows, maybe they'll address it again sometime later this season.
Just finished watching the episode! Good thing I like all the characters, but I did miss that Spike wasn`t more in it..That said, it was a good episode!
Tristen, I must repeat that I am so happy that you post your thoughts on episodes. It is a bit fun to share thoughts like this :)
Yeah, I would've liked more Spike myself, but I guess he's been pretty prominent this season so far, so I suppose the other characters deserve their chance in the limelight ;o) Tonight's ep looks like it'll be pretty JAM-centered, but I'm hoping we'll still get some nice Spike-moments ;o)

And I'm happy you found me! I really enjoy reading about your thoughts, too! Hope to hear more from you ;o)
