It is the responsibility of a Knight to be able to put one's life on the line at all costs to protect what they are charged with.

That... is something I am no longer capable of. Nor is it something I deserve the right to uphold.

Someone who can hold to their beliefs no matter what they're faced with... that's what is needed. And there is a very limited number of others in this world I would actually trust to ask such a thing.
