In No Particular Order

  • I have recovered from my migraine and even managed not to cut off my head with a spork. I'm quite pleased with myself for that. I do still have a light bruise on my arm from the injection, though, and I could do without that.
  • I had a quiet weekend. This is

Hee! I like your icon. :)

I'm glad to hear your migraine is no more. How often do they occur? Are they stress-related? Could I *be* asking any more questions? *Chandler voice*

He ran onto the curb? That rocks. It must be your hypno-hair. :D

As for relaxing music, you might want to try Idylls by Love Spirals Downwards. I also recommend Plateaux of Mirror and Pearl by Harold Budd/Brian Eno. (Those are two albums, actually.)

Oh! Your "not unusual" comment reminded me of Tom Jones, which reminded me of Christopher Walken singing (and dancing to) Delilah:

Isn't the icon fantastic? My supertalented icon goddess, princsscarmen, made it for me as part of the Tristanary set. I have my own dictionary o' icons. How cool is that?

OMG Christopher Walken! Singing Tom Jones! I cannot tell you how much I adore you for that. Yay!

The migraines are so irritating. They don't follow any pattern that my doctors or I have ever been able to figure out. I seem more likely to get them if I'm exhausted or stressed, but I'm neither of those at the moment. The standards like smoking, cheese, red wine, and all that don't seem to be a cause. Lately I've been getting a couple a week. There have been times when I've had them every day for weeks, but sometimes I've gone months without them. Argh.

Also? I love your Chandler voice. That so cracked me up.

I'm going to check out all the relaxy music you mentioned. You always have the most fabulous suggestions and links and stuff. :)

You have some great friends. :)

That's from a movie called Romance and Cigarettes. It's a little slow at times, but I recommend watching just for teh Walken. There were a few scenes where it sounded as if he were impersonating himself. Hee. I guess technically it's a musical. There's a lot of singing, at any rate. It also has Steve Buscemi, James Gandolfini, Susan Surandon and Cate Blanchett.

Aw, man. That sure sounds frustrating. Do you have sinus issues, too?

That is *so* nice of you to say. ;)

Danke! *blushes*

Yeah, the star trek thingy would be very helpful.

Glad you still have a head.

Glad to hear you are turning heads.

I hate muscle twitches like that. Eat a banana.

I'm pretty pleased I still have a head, too. I think it would completely ruin my look if I didn't. I haven't quite decided what "my look" is, but I'm fairly certain it involves having a head.

I wish I'd read your comment before I went shopping. I am woefully bananaless at the moment. Except! I've just remembered I have about four frozen bananas. I shall have a smoothie. Yay!

Oh, how much do you rock? I'll be checking Pzizz (that's fun to try to say) and your CD out. Sweet. :)

I use little jedi mind tricks sometimes to relax myself when I can't sleep. When I was a kid, I used to mentally trace the two-dimensional outline of my body, starting at the top of my head and slowly working around, relaxing all the relaxable bits that were traced. I'd make myself go around my ears, each finger and toe (one per inhalation/exhalation), etc.

These days, though, I usually do an alphabet game instead. I change the rules on the fly whenever it's either not hard enough to completely occupy me, or so hard it's taking actual effort to come up with answers, because the point is to keep my chatty brain occupied so the rest of me can fall asleep. A common version is to name 2-3 things that can be found in a grocery store beginning with each letter of the alphabet. I don't know why I'm fixated on grocery stores. I sometimes do geographic locations instead. In the name of not making it too hard, I accept a lot of bizarre answers. I have yet to make it to Z awake.

I am a fan of your Jedi mind tricks. I especially like the alphabet game. My mind chatters at me a lot, too, which is a big reason I have to listen to a book or watch television while I'm knitting because otherwise I can't concentrate. The chattery goes into high gear at night, so I'll definitely be giving this a try. Enough concentration needed to keep me from listening to the chatter, but not so much that it'll keep me awake. Excellent.

I heart you so much. :)

I will try to get it together enough to go to the post office with the Sarah Monette books I've been meaning to send for, what, months now? Eee. I am a terrible person. You, on the other hand, are an burninating angel. Thank you!

You are not a terrible person. You're singlehandedly keeping my backlog of books from becoming a full shelf length long! No hurry. Promise!
