I Can Has Feeling Well?

Nov 01, 2007 11:30

OMG so sick. Sick enough that I stayed home from work today, even though I'm trying hard to conserve my paid time off hours. Argh. I need a fairy godmother to wave her feeling-well wand at me. And while she's at it, she could totally clean the litter box and vacuum the apartment. That would be awesome ( Read more... )

Recently, I found out the hard way that rest, rest and more rest are the three most important things when you get sick. I hope you feel better by the weekend. *hug*

Thank you. I hope so, too. I'll be going to work tomorrow morning, but it's a half day for me because I have a doctor's appointment in the afternoon, so I think there's going to be a great deal of resting on my agenda for the next several days.

Has your second phase of the boomerang cold gone away? I hope so. It blows to think you're getting better and then have it come back. It's like adding insult to injury. And that's so not what you want when you're sick.

Aw. A doctor's appointment? Is it for your current sickness or something else?

I'm feeling a lot better today, finally. (And thanks for asking. :) ) If I had to do it over again, I would have gone to bed earlier on Sunday and Monday. Doh.

No, this one is for something else, and I've actually been waiting forever to get in to see this doctor, so I don't at all mind going to the appointment. And then I'll come home and begin my weekend of quiet couch vegging. The idea is remarkably comforting.

I think I'll take your advice and rest as much as possible. I always feel silly saying I need to rest when I have a cold ("it's only a cold, for god's sake, not ebola!"), but it really does make a difference, doesn't it?

I'm so glad you're feeling better. I hope that continues and that it doesn't rebound again. :)

i sound like kermit the frog doing phone sex when i have the sick like you have right now. my sotto voce sounds more like what you're describing you as sounding right now- kinda sexydeath. lots of C, Zinc, Magnesium, and a B complex for good measure, is my recommendation.

I would totally giggle at that, except no sound comes out when I try.

I think I'm more on the death side of the spectrum than the sexy side, but I'm going to believe for today that that's not the case because maybe it will make me feel better. Sort of Satine from Moulin Rouge!, only with a cold instead of the always-sexy tuberculosis. And also with fewer cool costumes.

Unfortunately I have none of the things you mention. I don't suppose Advil and Midol are really a very good substitute, are they? A trip to the store may be in order. Ugh.

I sound like Jimmy Stewart when I get sick like that.

That wouldn't be so bad, I guess, except he's been dead for 10 years.

Voice o' the Corpse! Awesome!

Sounding like a living Jimmy Stewart would actually be pretty cool, though. He had a distinctive, interesting voice.
